Training in Ballyhaunis

2 Public Cookery skills demonstrations will take place in Ballina:

Thursday 25th July between 2-4pm at Mercy Park, Parkside and Friday the 26th July on the green in Greenhill’s Estate, Ardnaree

This is part of the ‘Ballina Eat Wise’ community food initiative and will involve a local chef preparing a nutritious meal on a budget with the help of local residents.

Free samples will be given on the day. In conjunction with these events Moy Forum will run a soccer blitz in both venues for children aged 8-12.

All are welcome.

An Interview Technique Workshop

An Interview Technique Workshop is now available to jobseekers registered with Mayo North East Local & Community Development Programme.

This is a new free service developed in collaboration with Mayo Job Club.

It consists of a half day workshop on interview techniques, the interview process, cvs and cover letters.

Each jobseeker will select a job to be interviewed for and prepare for an interview with a fully trained interview panel.

This interview will be digitally recorded and a detailed critique of interview performance will be given to each jobseeker so that their interview skills can be improved thereby enhancing the likelihood of gaining employment.

Mayo Jobs Alert eService will shortly be launched by Mayo North East Local & Community Development Programme.

This new service will be free to jobseekers registered with Mayo North East and will provide a bi-monthly email service that will provide information on jobs advertised in Co. Mayo and within a 30klm radius.

FAS in conjuction with National Learning Network, Castlerea invites applications for places on the FETAC Level 5 course in Commercial Horticulture based in Castlerea.

The Programme is targeted primarly but not exclusively at persons aged 16 to 34 years who are currently unemployed.
